Find out everything you need to know about this year’s Christmas Markets in Liverpool!
Friday 22nd November 2019
If you live on the Wirral and are looking for something to do this festive period, just a short drive/ferry/train ride over the water, Liverpool have the most fantastic Christmas Markets.
The Liverpool Christmas Markets return to St George’s Plateau directly in front of the St George’s Hall this year. There will be festive tipples such as mulled wine served from the main Teepee bar. The Windmill Bar and Gin Tin make a popular return and the Ski Lodge with the karaoke cable cars is a main attraction.
If you’ve been before, you’ll probably remember the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap stall, it’s back again this year alongside the Bavarian Grill. You will also find the ever present waffles and pancakes to fulfill those festive treat needs.
There will also be markets selling Christmas decorations and candles, as well as local arts. Alongside the markets you will find vintage fairground rides, such as the large Ferris Wheel, plenty for the kids to enjoy.
There has been a recent debate on where the markets should be held in the city. The markets previously used to run through the centre of Chruch Street and along Lord Street. However, since moving to St George’s Plateau in 2016, the event has increased in size and popularity.
As well as the Christmas markets this year, children can take part in an Elf Adventure challenge inside St George’s Hall. This event includes toy making and sleigh loading. The event runs from November 30th to Christmas Eve. Tickets start from £5.50 to £13.50.
The market opened last Friday and will run until Monday 23rd December.
The market is free to attend and will be open during the day as well as the evening.
Sunday – Wednesday: 11am-9pm
Thursday – Saturday: 11am-10pm.
